A national project which aims to build active citizenship skills and knowledge alongside the development of flexible teaching and learning methods and approaches.
The project is open to anyone with an interest in active citizenship and community involvement wishing to develop teaching and training skills.
The project will actively recruit participants from a variety of backgrounds and with a broad range of community experiences.
Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Sector (City and Guilds 7303: Level 3)
This course aims to develop teaching and learning methods within an Active Citizenship context. It explores the role of citizenship and democracy in a local context, the values, principles and definitions underpinning active learning for active citizenship and demonstrate ways adult education can bring about change
PTTLS is an entry level requirement for adults working in adult and community learning.
The course will cover:
- Teaching roles and responsibilities
- approaches to teaching and learning
- planning teaching sessions
- developing and practising teaching skills
- assessing learning
It will be held at The Community Information Centre, 16 Silchester Road, St Leonards from Friday September 10th- October 30th, from 9.30am-2.30pm. An Introductory Session will be held on Friday September 3rd 10am-11am.
Who can get involved?
Previous teaching experience is not essential – but the course is open to anyone with an interest in active citizenship and community involvement wishing to develop teaching and training skills and knowledge.
THE COURSE IS FREE TO LEARNERS. Assistance with travel and childcare available.
