Some years ago Hastings Voluntary Action helped to establish the Sussex Community Foundation and currently serve as one of its Founder Directors. We are pleased to announce that despite the recession and financial cutbacks the Foundation has raised from donors and sponsors £500,000 which is eligible for match funding from the Governments Endowment Challange making a contribution of £1m. The endowment fund totalling £1.9m is now being invested and the income raised will be a permanant source of small grants for groups in Sussex. HVA Director Steve Manwaring added his congratulations to the staff of the Community Foundation and in particular paid tribute the work undertaken by the Duke of Richmond - the Foundations president - in helping reach this milestone.
